During the day transpiration is the major driving force in the movement of water in the xylem.The water moves upward due to the pressure created or say the suction created by the transpiration in the upper parts of the plant.When water moves outwards the plant through the stomata, it creates a suction whivh drives the water inside the roots and pushes it upwards
