During the experiment on measurement of loss of weight of solid in tap water and salty solution, the maximum loss in weight of the solid is observed, when it is : 1. partially immersed in water 2. partially immersed in salt solution 3. completely immersed in water 4. completely immersed in salt solution Give reason for your answer. The answer is - 4. Completely immersed in salt solution. Two reasons are there:
1.salt solution has a higher density than water. So,it exerts more buoyant force on the solid than water.
2.The reason for being completely immersed is that the more the volume of the solid inside a liquid ,the more the buoyant force will be.
HOPE THAT THIS WAS HELPFUL. .

The maximum loss in weight of the solid is observed when it is completely immersed in salt solution.
<>Firstly , Loss of weight in liquid is maximum , when it is immersed completely in the liquid.
<> Second , the density of salt water is less than the density of tap water.Hence ,loss of weight will be maximum in salt solution
