during the freedom movement, some of the zamindars supported the British.why?

during the independence,the zamindars support the british because the britishers had gave the more lands and gave money and leave some of the places to rule overthat place
so the zamindars had supported the britishers

Well,during the freedom movement,most zamindars supported the british because the britshers and plenty of land and money for which the zamindars became greedy.So in the exchange of land and money, the selfish zamindars supported the britishers.... and also the britishers threatened the zamindars (working under them) to support them else they would have been fired from their post and they also threatened to kill them and thier faimly...so few of these reasons finally forced them to support them in the freedom movement...
