Given :
Population 5 years ago = 1200000
Increased rate = 15%
Present population of a town = 1200000 + 15%of 1200000
= 1200000 +( 15× 1200000)/100
= 1200000 + 15×12000
= 1200000 + 180000
Present population of a town= 1380000
Hence, the present population of the town= 1380000

Thank you for asking this question , let me help you in finding the answer.
From the data we know data the previous population was 12,00,000
And it increased at the rate of 15%
So the 15% of the population will be= 15*1200000/100
So the 15% of population = 15*12000 =180000
thus the total present population will be = 1200000+180000
So the present population will be 1380000 which is our answer.
Hope this will helps.
