During the reaction of some metals with dilute HCl, the following observations were made. (Give reasons).

Silver metal does not show any change.

The temperature of the reaction mixture rises when aluminium is added.

the reaction of sodium metal is found to be highly explosive.

some bubbles of gas are seen when lead is reacted with the acid.

Answer:

Silver is below hydrogen in the reactivity series, and therefore silver metal does not react with H+ to produce silver ions and hydrogen gas. 2. Aluminium reacts with HCl to form aluminium chloride which is an exothermic reaction. Therefore the temperature of the reactions mixture rises
