during the trial , the person charged of crime cannot be referred to as a convict. Why?

because till the person is under trial it is proved that he had actually committed the crime and hence can't be referred as covict.

because he can also be the person who did the crime.so,we can't consider him as a convict until he is proved that he is guilty or innocent or a criminal.
