Dear friend the answer for this question is here:
The towering Lingaraj temple is situated in the city of Bhubaneswar in the state of Orissa, India. It represents the Orissan temple architecture. The present temple was built by King Lalatendu Keshari in the 11th century A D. It is 150 ft. high. The temple campus has around 15o subsidiary shrines. The city is connected by air and road and easily accessible from various parts of the country. The temple is worth seeing.Lingaraja Temple looms large over the physical and cultural landscape of Bhubaneswar. The 'sikhara' (spire) of the temple was visible from different corners of the city before the fast growth of the high rise buildings. Even today, the onlooker's heart fills with joy if he catches the sight of the pinnacle of the temple with the flag fying with abandon.
Although the exquisitely beautiful shrine of Lingaraja is assumed to have been built in the 11th century, its grand compound measuring 4.5 acres within the high laterite walls displays many sculptures and miniature temples thought to belong to earlier centuries. This could be due to the fact that the temple we see today may have been built to substitute an more ancient structure existing in the same place. This was an accepted practice of earlier times and Puri's Jagannath Temple is also suspected to have gone through the same process.
Hope it helps you!!
