Explanation:

Chain of events that took place before Julfar and Khor Fakkan were liberated

  • Afonso de Albuquerque made an attempt to conquer Hormuz Island in the year 1507, at the forefront of a Portuguese fleet of seven ships & 500 men, had proceeded to Hormuz, during the trip, stormed & had captured the towns of Kuryat, Muscat, Khor Fakkan, Kalhat & Sohar, expressed their willingness to become tributary to the King of Portugal. The Portuguese seized Khor Fakkan. The Kingdom of Hormuz revolted against the Portuguese invaders.
  • With Hormuz secured, Albuquerque resumed building the fortress, the Potuguese started the construction of diffeerent fortress, hiring Hormuz's men and recruiting local staff. The construction on the north end of the tear-drop-formed island of Hormuz was strategically chosen with an eye on the city and on both sides of the port. The King was permitted to rule its Kingdom as the Portuguese Crown vassal but he was not armed, the Portuguese controlled defence and laid aside only a royal guard & effectually turned it into a "protectorate". In Hormuz Albuquerque the King took the principle of indirect rule. Until the collapse of Hormuz, to the British Persian forces Hormuz had  remained a Portuguese state
  • The location of Ras Al Khaimah (Julfar) made it a prized target for a range of invading powers to dominate. Eighteen historical fortifications, castle & towers bear witness to the tumultuous history of the Sassana people, the Arabian Gulf Islamic clans, the Portuguese, the Netherlands & the British Forces occupying Ras Al Khaimah (Julfar) or challenging them. With the entry of the Qawasim, a clan so inspired which not only unified a significant portion of the northern Emirates, Ras Al Khaimah's (Julfar) history became a major focus, however has also formed one of the greatest fleets in this part of the region.
  • In January 1820 the British enforced the 1820 General Maritime Treaty, signed by Sheik Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qashimi of Sharja who who was "reinstated" by  by the British in Ras Al Khaimah after Hazan Bin Rahma Al Qasimi had been deposed.  The Treaty provided for an end to pirates and slavery. Ras Al Khaimah was completely split from neighbouring Sharjah in 1869. But it was re-integrated in Sharjah from September 1900 to 7th July 1921. The last governor became his the next sovereign ruler.
