Because they are homozygous(tt) for height trait

Explanation:

  • There are two types of traits a pure trait and a hybrid trait. Pure trait is called homozygous trait because both the alleles in the pure trait are the same.
  • Hybrid traits are called heterozygous traits because they are made up of a combination of two different types of traits.
  • Dwarf pea plant can only produce when two recessive alleles of height trait comes in the progeny. Therefore a dwarf plant is homozygous recessive which shows that dwarf pea plant are always pure.

  • TT genotype will produce a tall plant, Tt will also produce a tall plant but only tt genotype will produce dwarf plant.
