Jharkhand is a state of the India, situated in the eastern part of the India.
There are 32 rivers flowing through the state of Jharkhand.
Most of them are dying due to the pollution and heavy dumping of waste materials generated from the steel and another industrial factories in the Jharkhand.
The golden river or the Subernarekha is dying day by day due to this reasons.
Another rivers are also effected of constant pollutions.
Dying rivers of Jharkhand:
Back in 2015, a group of environmental scientists had declared that the rivers of the state Jharkhand is losing their oxygen levels and becoming toxic.
The environmental scientists have looked upon the quality of some major rivers that flowing through Jharkhand and declared that pollution had cause a major destruction to the rivers of Jharkhand. According to their declaration, rivers like Damodar, Ganga, Baitarani, Barakar, Ajay N, Son River, South Koel and Subarnarekha are facing major threat to their water quality.
As per the reports of CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board), the BOD levels of nearly eight rivers have already crossed the maximum level. The CPCB had declared that the waters of those rivers are dangerous to human utility actions.
According to the regional In-charge of the ZSI, municipal wastes and industrial effluents were dumped continuously in to the rivers of Jharkhand. Climate change and lack of rainfall had increased the seriousness of the situation even more.
Even though the state government of Jharkhand had filed an action plan and sent them to the central government back in 2015 the rivers are still in the same dying condition and the industries on the banks of those rivers are still polluting the rivers of Jharkhand.
