Answer:

1. Having proper waste disposal methods available gives support to recycling and saves precious materials. It is critical that materials are being renewed for other purposes. Not only does this give it further use and stops it from going to the landfill, but it can also limit the need to manufacture new materials.

2. The wastes that decompose naturally in the environment and are considered safe for the environment are called as biodegradable substances. Such wastes which do not decompose naturally in the environment causes pollution and are also harmful to the living being are called the non-biodegradable substances

3. Since biodegradable or organic wastes like vegetable peels, waste food, leaves, dead flowers, and egg shells can be recycled, they are converted into manure by burying them in compost pits. Recycling of organic wastes like vegetable peels, waste food, leaves, etc., by burying them in compost pits is called composting.

4. The process of waste paper recycling most often involves mixing used/old paper with water and chemicals to break it down. It is then chopped up and heated, which breaks it down further into strands of cellulose, a type of organic plant material; this resulting mixture is called pulp, or slurry.

5. Benefits of Recycling

a. Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators.

b. Conserves natural resources such as timber, water and minerals.

c. Increases economic security by tapping a domestic source of materials.

d. Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials.

e. Saves energy.

6. Plastics are non biodegradable waste which causes lots of land pollution and it's a huge problem for us as well as for future generations Burning of plastic in the open air leads to environmental pollution due to the release of poisonous chemicals. The polluted air, when inhaled by humans and animals, affects their health and can cause respiratory problems

7.Those groups include source reduction and reuse, animal feeding, recycling, composting, fermentation, landfills, incineration, and land application. You can start using many techniques right at home, like reduction and reuse, which works to reduce the amount of disposable material used.
