1. Why do we try and divide history into different periods? We do so in an attempt to capture the characteristics of a time, its central features as they appear to us. So the terms through which we periodise – that is, demarcate the difference between periods – become important. They reflect our ideas about the past.
2. Sedentary agriculture is a farming method in which one farmer in a particular area selected by him/her.in this mode of agriculture the fields are not changed according to season.
3. Jute is called golden fibre for its colour and high cash value in India. Among major regions of jute production, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Odisha and Meghalaya are important.
4. Brazil, Vietnam, Columbia are the principal coffee producing countries.
5. Universal suffrage - Universal suffrage (also called universal franchise, general suffrage, and common suffrage of the common man) gives the right to vote to all adult citizens, regardless of wealth, income, gender, social status, race, ethnicity, political stance, or any other restriction, subject only to relatively minor exceptions.
