These things are called set squares and they’re not really used in Euclidean geometry. What they are useful for is marking out in oblique drawings. You can mark out in 30, 60, 45 and 90 degrees just by following the line of the set square.

In isometric drawings you have three axes 120 degrees round. the 30/60 is very useful for this. In orthographic the 45/90 is useful for marking out baselines.

Traditionally though you’d do geometry with just a straight edge and a pair of compasses. To be exact in measurement of length you’d use a ruler. You don’t actually need any of the other stuff, but it’s nice to have to make things easier
