✤Dispersion of White Light

When white light passes through the prism, the light gets spilts into seven constituent colours - from red to violet. This phenomenon is called dispersion of light. $\sf\:$

In glass, the speed of the red colour is maximum and speed of violet is minimum. Hence, a ray of red colour bends minimum towards the base of the prism while the ray of violet bends maximum.
