There are mainly 4 types of sentences.
1. Assertive Sentences
These sentences simply convey statements/information/opinions.
Examples:
- She is going out with her friends tonight.
- I love reading books.
- She'll open the door for me.
2. Exclamatory Sentences
These sentences convey extreme emotion. It can express joy, sadness, anger, surprise, ... etc.
Examples:
- Oh no! She has done it again!
- I hate him!
- Wow! This is really pretty!
3. Imperative sentences
These sentences convey a request/command.
Examples:
- Shut the door.
- Ask her to wait for me.
- Do not push her.
4. Interrogative sentences
These sentences are mostly questions.
Examples:
- Where does she live?
- How long will the flight be?
- Is he inside?
