Present Continuous Tense

Rules for Present Cont. Tense:

  • Subject + auxiliary verb (am/ is/ are) + main verb (+ ing) + object

Answer:

  • 1. A cat is carrying its kittens in its mouth.

  • 2. They are catching fish in the pond.

  • 3. I am going to school by car.

  • 4. The firemen are putting out fires.

Note: If there is a Singular Noun, we use is and if there is Plural Noun, we use are. The use of am is restricted only for First Person --- I.

Remember : A simple present tense verb can be converted into a present continuous verb by <am/is/are> <simple present tense>+ing.

The sentences given in the question will be rewritten into Present Continuous form as follows :-
