Given : Two angles are vertically opposite to each other and are complementary.

To Find : The angles are:

i) 50 and 40° ii) 45° and 45° iii) 90° and 90° iv) none of these

Solution:

Let say vertically  opposite angles are a and b

Vertically opposite angles are equal in magnitude

Hence a = b

complementary angles are the angles whose sum is 90°

=> a + b = 90°

=> a + a = 90°

=> 2a = 90°

=> a = 45°

=> b =  45°

Hence angles are 45° and 45°
