The answers are given below:

1) The rain ('I') descends from the sky and laves or washes the droughts, globe's smallest particles (atoms), and layers of dust.

2) The seed that was initially latent begins to gestate and grow due to the nourishment provided by the descending rain. Latent seed means that they had the potential to grow but have not sprouted yet.

3) The earth is referred to as the origin of rain. In the last line, the rain says that day-by-day it cleanses its origin and makes it more beautiful. Without the rain, the earth would turn barren.

4) Using the 'I' (First-person) language, the poet gives voice to the rain. The reader feels that the rain is itself talking to them and singing songs about its own work in helping the earth.

5) Rain is a non-living object but is shown living by the poet. It talks and sings like a human. Hence, the poetic device used is Personification.
