Let the number of people

participating in the party = x

Contribution of each participant = 2x

Total money collected = Rs3042

Number of participants × contribution

of each participant = 3042

x × 2x = 3042

x² = 3042 / 2

x² = 1521

x² = ( 39 )²

x = 39

Therefore ,

Number of members present in the

party = x = 39
