A muscle fiber is the cell that constitutes muscles (skeletal muscles) also known as the myocytes. Just like all other cells, muscle fibers have a cell membrane or plasma membrane. This cell membrane is what is called the sarcolemma.  Like all other plasma membranes, the sarcolemma encloses the cell cytopalsm - in this case referred to as the sarcoplasm. The muscle fiber is a syncyntium, what this means is that the cytoplasm in the muscle cells (the sarcoplasm) contain many cell nuclei in it.
