Each of equal sides of an isosceles triangle is 4 cm longer than its base. If the perimeter of the triangle is 62 cm; find the lengths of the sides of the triangle.

Let  base = x,
then equal sides = x+4 and x+4 .

perimeter = sum of sides .
x+x+4+x+4 = 62 
3x + 8 = 62 
3x = 54 
x = 18 . 
So base = 18cm.
equal sides = 18+4 = 22cm/

Let the base be x
Each equal side= x+4
Perimeter= 62cm

Equation-
x+x+4+x+4=62
3x+8=62
3x= 62-8
x= 54/3= 18cm
Base= 18cm
Equal side= 18+4= 22cm
Another equal side= 22cm
