Solution:
Let the length of third side = x
and length of each equal sides = 2x
- The sides of triangle are x, 2x and 2x.
Perimeter of the triangle = Sum of all sides
→ 30 = x + 2x + 2x
→ 30 = (2 + 2 + 1) x
→ 30 = 5x
→ x = 30/5
→ x = 6
Sides of the triangle:
- x = 6cm
- 2x = 2(6cm) = 12cm
- 2x = 2(6cm) = 12cm
Hence,
- Sides of triangle = 6cm, 12cm, and 12cm.
