Each of the equal sides of a triangle is 4 cm greater than its height. If the base of the triangle is 24 cm; calculate the perimeter and area of the triangle.

let one side be 4+x.
according to question base is 24cm then 4+x = 24
x= 24 - 4.
x= 20cm
since all sides of triangle are equal the perimeter will be 20 +20 +20= 60cm.

Since sides are equal, it is equilateral triangle.
Perimeter = 3×24 = 72 cm
Area = 1/2 × base × height
= 1/2 × 24 × (24-4) = 240 cm2
