Each of the two equal sides of an isosceles triangle is thrice times as large as the third side.if the perimeter of the triangle is 28 cm,find each side of the triangle..

Let the third side be x cm,so the two equal sides will be 3x and 3x.
Perimeter=sum of three sides
28=x+3x+3x
28=7x
x=4cm

3x=3×4
=12cm
Hence three sides of triangle are 4cm,12cm and 12cm
