Answer

∴ Perimeter = 16

∴ Perimeter = 16∴(x−1)+(x−1)+x=16

∴ Perimeter = 16∴(x−1)+(x−1)+x=163x - 2 = 16

∴ Perimeter = 16∴(x−1)+(x−1)+x=163x - 2 = 163x = 18

∴ Perimeter = 16∴(x−1)+(x−1)+x=163x - 2 = 163x = 18x = 6 cm

∴ Perimeter = 16∴(x−1)+(x−1)+x=163x - 2 = 163x = 18x = 6 cmAB = AC = 5cm , BC =6cm

Given:

  • Equal sides of isosceles triangle are 1cm less than the third.
  • Perimeter is 16cm

To Find:

  • The sides of the triangle

Solution:

Let the equal sides be x.

So, the third side is x+1.

Perimeter = 16cm

=> 16cm = x + x + x + 1

=> 16cm = 3x + 1

=> 16 - 1 = 3x

=> 3x = 15

=> x = 5.

The sides of the triangle are => 5cm, 5cm and 6cm.
