Answer:

Each side of a rhombus is 15 cm. If the length of one of its diagonals is 18 cm, then what is the length of the other diagonal?

Rhombus ABCD, AB= BC= CD= DA = 15 cm diagonal AC = 18 cm & AC & BD intersect at O.

TO FIND: diagonal BD

Since diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles.

In right triangle AOB

Hypotenuse AB = 15cm , AO = 9 cm

=> BO = √(AB² - AO² )

=> BO = √(15² - 9² )

=> BO = √(24 * 6)

=> BO = √(2² *6² )

=> BO = 12 cm

=> BD= 2BO

=> BD = 2*12

=> BD = 24 cm
