Step-by-step explanation:

Each side of a square flower bed is 3 m 60 CM

i.e,300 +60 cm

360 cm

Extended length from each side = 40 cm

therefore total length increased is 80 cm

new length of the flower bed is 360 cm + 80 cm

=440 cm

Now,new area of the square = (side)^2

=440×440 cm^2

= 193600cm^2

ans(1) = 19.36 m^2

Also, area increased in the flower bed

new area of the flower bed - original area of the

flower bed

193600cm^2 - (360)^2 cm^2

193600cm^2 - 129600 cm^2

64000 cm^2

(Ans 2) hence, Area increased in the flower bed is 6400cm^2 or 6.4 m^2
