Answer :

  • Breadth of rectangle is 40cm

Given :

  • Each side of a square is 45cm
  • Length of rectangle is 50cm
  • Perimeter of both square and rectangle are same

To find :

  • Breadth of rectangle

Solution :

Given

  • Side of square is 45cm

We know that,

  • Perimeter of square = 4a

》Perimeter of square = 4a

》Perimeter of square = 4 × 45

》Perimeter of square = 180 cm

Given, The perimeter of both (square and rectangle)are same then,

  • Perimeter of rectangle is 180cm

Finding the breadth of rectangle :

Given

  • Length of rectangle is 50cm
  • Perimeter of rectangle is 180cm

  • Let the breadth of rectangle be b

We know that,

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

where,

  • l is length of rectangle
  • b is breadth of rectangle

》Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

》180 = 2(50 + b)

》50 + b = 180/2

》50 + b = 90

》b = 90 - 50

》b = 40cm

Hence, Breadth of rectangle is 40cm
