Each side is 5 2/3 m

                 =  17/3 m

                 = 5.67 m

Let the square be ABCD

Δ ADC is a right triangle and AC is the hypotenuse.

By Pythagoras Theorem, AC² = AD² + DC²

                                          AC =  √(AD² + DC²)

                                                = √( 5.67² + 5.67²)

                                                = √( 32.1489 + 32.1489)

                                                = √(64.2978)

                                                = 8.019 m (approx.)

Now area of square = d²/2 where, d = diagonal (i.e. AC)

                                 = AC²/2

                                 = 8.019²/2

                                 = 32.15 m² (approx.)

This is the easiest way of solving for the area of a square.
