It means the major problems and issues that India facing currently.

To write an essay on topics like this you must have some knowledge about what all this Poverty, Unemployment etc means and how

serious issue they are..

You should start with introducing you topic and describe little bit about it. And then start writing on issues.. One by one.. Write every issue in different paragraph and write about it.. Like how that issue became a major one and how much serious that issue is etc etc…
