Ashmolean Museum

- The Ashmolean Museum is Britain's first publicmuseum and the oldest university museum in the world. In 1677, it received its first collection, the cabinet of curiosities from Elias Ashmole. The following year, the building for the collection was started. It was finished in 1683.
