Using Newton's third law of motion, we can conclude that the force exerted on the earth is 0.98 Newtons towards the apple. The apple exerts the same force on the earth as the earth exerts on the apple.

Hope it helps ♥️

Both earth and apple apply equal forces of attraction on each other. Thus the correct answer is OPTION 3 - EQUAL.

However since the mass of earth is large enough as compared to apple the acceleration produced in earth is very negligible and hence it does not move but an apple moves since it has very less mass as compared to earth and a good amount of acceleration is produced.
