well the orbit is not circular, it's an ellipse,but it's considered as a circular orbit.so the gravitational force between sun and earth is the force which helps the earth to keep its circular motion in a constant orbit .

gravitational force=the force on earth towards the center of orbit

F=ma=GMm/R²=Gravitational force between sun and earth

a=GM/R²

F=force on earth towards the center of the orbit

m=mass of earth

a=acceleration

M=mass of sun

R=radius of the orbit=distance between sun and earth

G= Newton's constant of gravity

as G,M,R are constant, acceleration will be uniform ( direction of acceleration is always towards the center of the orbit)
