Earth is a magnet and sun is also a magnet, then why they both do not stick each other?

place two magnets in two different rooms and ask the same question why they do not stick together the answer is the magnetic force that stick both the magnet is very very low just same as the case of sun and earth, the distance between them are very large to stick together.
if you study physics at bsc level you get to know that magnetic force are short range force.
