Open system is a system where both energy and matter escape out of the system through the system boundary. Basically they have external interactions. Open system is also known as flow system. People or building stuff doesn't add any mass to the planet. Humans and things are made with the matter that is already in the planet. It's just being transformed. Most of the rockets and satellites that we launch to Earth orbit eventually fall down back to Earth, so no real effect here. Hence these things if they would escape out into the space the mass transfer would be negligible.
