• It is because of the shape of the Earth that there is climatic diversity on the planet.

• Had the Earth been flat, the climate would have been the same all over.

• The shape of Earth favors the cycle of day and night. A flat Earth would have either had day or night depending on which side faced the Sun.

• The gravitational force acting upon the bodies on the surface on the Earth might not have been uniform if the Earth had been flat.
