Answer:

Explanation: Earth would been a barren land with no life without carbon dioxide due to certain points:-

1.] Oxygen present in the atmosphere, gives life to all types of animals and plants{during night time only}.

2.] Ozone layer present in the upper atmosphere absorbs Ultraviolet rays and other harmful rays present in the sun's light.

3.] Carbon Dioxide and methane present in a very little amount doesn't allow sun's heat to escape the Earth's atmosphere. This helps to keep Earth warm. Without it, Earth will a big ball of ice.

4.] Nitrogen present in the atmosphere, indirectly helps plants in their nutrition.

Earth would have been barren land if the layer of atmosphere is not present as the amount of energy received by the sun would be so excessive that it had made the life impossible on the earth.

Explanation:

  • Atmosphere acts as a planet which maintain the temperature of earth by absorbing the heat required the life support system and radiating the extra heat into the space in the form of long-range radiations.
  • However, in recent time due to anthropogenic activities, the amount of heat trapped by earth’s atmosphere has increased due to the presence of green house gases in it.
  • It is disturbing the balance and making life difficult on earth.
