Place value:
Eg: 123
The place value of '3' is one's digit, place value of '2' is ten's place and place value of '1' is 'hundred's place'. So,place value is nothing but the place which the digit occupies(one's or ten's or hundred's or thousand's etc..)
Face value:
Face value of a digit is the digit itself.
In the above example, face value of '3' is '3', face value of '2' is '2' and face value of '1' is '1'
Hope this helps
