It depends on you as much as on the grammatical category (prepositions), but basically you should try to learn them in context.

Go back over that last one-sentence paragraph and locate the prepositions ‘on’, ‘on’ (again) and ‘in’; how am I using them? What should pop right out at you are the words which follow the prepositions: ‘you’ ‘the grammatical category’ and ‘context’.
