Given the equation of the hyperbola is 3x

2 −4y ^2=−12 or, 3y ^2 + 4x ^2=1.......(1).

Comparing (1) with a^2y^2 − b ^2x 2

2x 2 =1 we get, a 2 =4 and b 23.

Then the eccentricity of the hyperbola (1) is

2x 2 =1 we get, a 2 =4 and b 23.

Then the eccentricity of the hyperbola (1) is 1+ a ^2b ^2 = 1+ 4^3= 27
