 Importance are:-

1) Drugs- Rhizome and petiole of Dryopteris yield an anthelminthic drug. 

2) Food value- Sporocarp of Marsilea are rich in starch and eaten for their nutritive value as food. 
3) Indusrial use- Club mosses are used as a dry industrial lubricant since it microscopic spore contain non-volatile oil
4) Adiantum phillippens has been found to be very effective in the treatment of chest complaints.
5) Fertilizer- Azolla is use as nitrogen fixer in agriculture. It leaves contain nitrogen fixing bacteria , i. e, cyanobacteria through symbiotic association. 
6) Forensic Investigation- Spores of mosses are use as finger print powder in forensic investigation. Also use as photography flash powder. 
7) Ornamental value- Ferns are grown in gardens and at home for their attractive foliage leaves. Ruhmora adiantiformis commonly known as florist's fern are used in the cut flower arrangement as it leaves resist wilting.
