The economic important of gymnosperms :

1. Ornamental uses : many gymnosperms trees are usually cultivated in the garden as ornamental .

2. Sources of wood : many gymnosperms , particularly conifers are of great importance of fuels.

3. Edible products : pinus gerardian are used as dry fruits .

4. Resins : the manufacturing of of varnishes, waterproof paints, sealing wax.

5. Medical uses : the ephedra is used in the treatment of asthma, cough etc.

seeds of pinus called chilgoza are edible.
They are eaten after roasting.

✔️Timber:
Gymnosperms possess softwood.
It is used in preparation of light furniture, plywood, packing cases, matchsticks, railway sleepers, etc.

✔️Paper:
A number of Gymnosperms woods are used in the manufacture of paper.

✔️Fibre boards:
Needle of pinus and other conifers are used in making fibre boards that are used in making packing cases.

✔️Ephedrine:
Drug ephedrine is obtained Ephedra, a gymnosperm.
