Economics is a vast subject, and a very interesting one. Whether it is easy or not, depends on you, on your likes and dislikes, and capabilities.

Some schools offer economics as a fifth/sixth subject. People (many of them) are of the opinion that a fifth/sixth subject should be an easy one, that will boost your marks, without much effort. If that is your reasoning behind choosing economics, then it is not an easy subject. You cannot score without studying and understanding the material. It requires common sense and analytical thinking as well.

If you want to try a new subject, have taken economics in 9–10 and liked it, have a genuine liking for the nature of the subject, then economics will be easy for you.

Economics involves mathematics (statistics), logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and understanding. Mugging up won’t help much, especially if you are in ISC board, however, the statistics of class 11 is common for maths and economics, in ISC. In fact, you might find numericals of economics to be easier than Mathematics, especially in class 12, when calculus comes in full-fledged in Mathematics. If you had economics in class 9 and 10, it will be a cakewalk for you, since everything is a repetition.
