Subject: Hazards of plastic bags and cups

I would like to draw the attention of the Civic authorities to the hazards of using plastic bags and cups.
Plastic is being used on a large scale today. I agree that it is very convenient to use plastic bags and cups. We can use and throw them. However, they pose a problem to our environment. From soil pollution to contamination of water bodies, plastic contributes to everything. It is both a blessing and a curse but today it is more of a curse than a blessing. I think it will be better for both us and the environment if use eco friendly materials like jute bags and earthen cups instead of plastic.
