Access to education is important for Economic empowerment starts. One cannot talk about economic empowerment without talking about education. Knowledge is power.

I am very fortunate and privileged to have had access to quality education, because of my parents who believed in me. As a teacher my mother knew the importance of a good Education for a woman and made sure I had the opportunity to get a good education. I am now rounding up the final year of my Master’s Degree. Having an education has opened many doors of opportunity for me, I have been able to study further, become employed, earn a living , delay marriage until I was ready and also help with my two younger sister’s education.

Unfortunately this is not the case for many girls and women in Africa who are affected by poverty, as they are less likely to be sent to school and more likely to be married off young. For these girls education is not a right but rather a luxury.

Education is the key to the women's empowerment.
