Answer with Explanation:

Sewerage System is basically a network comprising pipes, pumps, etc. for the collection of sewage or wastewater from the surrounding areas. Domestic wastes are connected to the main sewers through a channel which follows gravity flow and there is no external force/pressure from pumps, required in this case.

In a sewerage system, pipes coming from the areas i.e from houses, buildings, etc. are connected in a network which then connects to main sewers that are treated properly through a sewerage treatment system before discharge. In some areas where gravity flow is not possible, sewage pumps are provided for the flow of sewage or wastewater.

Sewage system may get damaged due to solid wastes in pipelines which cause blockages in the sewer lines, due to tree root infiltration damaging pipelines, due to and pipe misalignment or holes or pipe collapse, and any sewer surge.

There is a need for the awareness and education of the people not to dispose of their solid or semi-solid wastes in sewage lines, arrange proper cleanup of lines in their area from the relevant waste and sewage department.

To ensure the availability of electricity under a stable range of voltage and rated values for the pumps installed in the sewage lines, electrical equipment called “Transform” is used in the system. Hence, pumps and transformers ensure that the sewage system may not get blocked due to waste and the flow remains under given values that will be collected in the main sewer. Unavailability of these equipments may cause damage to the sewerage system.
