Edward Jenner’s smallpox inoculation experiment was based on an observation by a dairymaid that she could not get smallpox because she had already had cowpox. How did Jenner form his hypothesis from this observation? He asked what would happen if he deliberately inoculated someone with cowpox fluid from another person. He tested different existing inoculations to see which one was most effective in preventing smallpox. He observed dairymaids milking cows with cowpox to see if the statement was true before forming a hypothesis. He drew a conclusion about cowpox infection based on the comment he overheard from the dairymaid.

Answer: Edward Jenner came up with the hypothesis and conclusion that dairy maids could not get infected with small pox because they had once been exposed to the small pox virus from tales he heard.

He also concluded that small pox could be transferred from one person to another.

Edward Jenner came up with this conclusion with the help of the tales he heard that dairy maids could not contract small pox.

In 1736, Edward Jenner met a young dairy maid named Sarah Nelms who had small pox lesions. Edward Jenner then took some matter from Nelms' small pox lesion and inoculated an 8- year old boy named James Phipps. James Phipps developed a fever and got mildly ill but recovered fully after 10 days.

1 month later, Jenner inoculated the same boy with matter from a fresh small pox lesion. The boy did not develop any disease.

Edward Jenner then concluded that one could get complete protection from small pox when inoculated/vaccinated with matter from small pox lesion.

Explanation:

On may 14, 1796 , jenner took fluid from a cowpox blister and scratched it into the skin of james phipps an eight year old boy . a single blister rose up on the spot, but james soon recovered. on july 1 , jenner inoculated the boy again, this time with small pox matter and no disease developed. the vaccine was a success. vaccine  development started more than two centuries ago when english doctor edward jenner treated a young boy by injecting him with plus from cowpox blisters found on a milkmaid's hands.

cowpox contains the vaccinia  virus, which causes smallpox . the injection immunized the boy against smallpox.  jenner noticed that milkmaids who had contracted a disease called cowpox, which caused blistering on cow's udders, did not catch smallpox. smallpox which caused severe skin eruptions and dangerous fevers in humans , cowpox led to few ill symptoms in women.
