It can be solved by using quadratic equation in two variables.

Let the no. of Rs. 50 notes be x.

and the no. of Rs. 100 notes be y.

A/Q,   x + y = 25    ---- 1

          x = 25 - y

and    50x + 100y = 2000   ---- 2     [Rs. 50/100 × x/y no. of notes]

Now, putting the value of x from eqn. 1 in eqn. 2, we get

50(25 - y) + 100y = 2000

1250 - 50y + 100y = 2000

50y = 2000 - 1250

y = 750/50 = 15

Now putting value of y in eqn. 1

x = 25 - 15

x = 10

Therefore, she received 10 Rs. 50 notes and 15 Rs. 100 notes.
