Answer:Environmental pollution refers to the condition when the natural cycle of the environment is disturbed due to the mixing of poisonous or harmful materials. Pollution is of many types such as air pollution, soil pollution, noise pollution, water pollution, etc. Due to the increase in automobiles, as they release poisonous gases the air pollution is rising at an alarming rate. Therefore, the air we breath is not safe and have caused many lung disorders. Also by mixing sewage water in the drinking water causes water pollution which makes harmful diseases.

Due to an increase in air pollution by the industries in Agra, it has adversely affected the monument, Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal was at first clear white in color, however, due to industrial pollution and other activities, it has caused the color to fade. The color has faded due to the presence of carbon and dust in gases. Such level of pollution is deteriorating the health of people as well the monument like Taj Mahal adversely.

Several steps are being taken by the government to prevent the monument from pollution. Steps such as electric crematoriums and ban on burning of cow dung are being taken by the UP government.

Taj Mahal is slowly decaying due to air pollution. ... As the Yamuna River dries up, it risks sliding the Taj Mahal off its picturesque banks into a sea of mud. The burning of Municipal Solid Waste in open results in thick toxic smog which is the main reason for the discoloration of Taj Mahal.

Due to lot of carbon monoxide and Sulphur Dioxide gas when mix with the water it become acid. This acid makes the white marble yellow . The air pollution and discoloration of marble due to oxidation of its constituents are the main causes of theYellowish color of Taj Mahal
