Ocean routes are very important for transport of goods, services and people as land is not continuous and air fares are expensive. Arctic sea route is being opened because of the ice melt there, it would be convenient to open it in summers. However, there must be international regulation to use the route properly because of the marine life and ecosystem there. Because of global warming, the ice in the straits are melting, and most the routes would become difficult to use by 2050.
